Ukeleles are fairly limited in the sounds they can create, whereas guitars can sound like ukeleles AND *all kinds* of other ways.  
Guitars can also be played in quite complicated ways or in very simple ones, so you could just stick with the simpler ones first then be in a good place to go to more and more guitar things.  (And once you learn even simple guitar, it would be easy to pick up a ukelele and play some stuff, though it wouldn&#039;t work as easily in the other direction.)

My 2 cents anyway (and I have played both a little),
