i am interested to learn musical instruments. for self learning , is guitar best or shall a try piano?

First, I’d like to say that I am a self taught pianist so I can probably help a lot here!

It is mainly preference in my opinion. All the guitarists I know want to learn piano and vice versa!

I personally would choose guitar because it is good to get to grips with using multiple strings as soon as possible, while on a piano all the notes are in a straight line!

Other than that, it’s up to you and how you like to play!

guitar because it´s easier (you can see where you can put your fingers) . For piano you must have a teacher to learn the right technique(which finger where). That´s my advice :) and guitar sounds better ;)

lemme see, in my opinion, try out both instruments first, and see which in you’re much more comfortable with. each instruments has it’s own pros and cons. the people above me are right. you can bring that guitar everywhere, but also an electronic keyboard ( all electronic keyboards have those battery thingies). first of all, if fate tells you that you’re not cut up for it. don’t force yourself- try another instrument. piano’s much, much easier for my point of view. And it won’t give you cuts and wounds from too much practice.

Well, I play piano and flute and this is my advice:

It can be very difficult to start the piano on your own. Is there an instrument you already play? With piano, you’d have to learn both treble and bass clef. Then you’d have to read both of them at the same time while playing with both hands. Not a easy thing to learn.

Guitars are much cheaper than a piano. If you’re serious about learning piano, you’d want to buy a good quality one. I wouldn’t just "try" it on a digital keyboard first. As any serious pianist will tell you, there’s a HUGE difference between an acoustic piano and an electric piano.

To me, it just seems like the guitar would be easier to learn. Good luck on which ever you choose though.
